“Into Remission”

In the shadows of this battle,

a glimmer of hope dares to shine,

illuminating a path to follow

toward a horizon so divine.

The echo of war drums fades,

silence descends with peace in its wings,

a brief respite so sweetly offered,

to mend the pain that suffering brings.

In this precious moment of calm,

I breathe in life with newfound grace,

cherishing each day as it unfolds,

embracing hope with a tender embrace.

Strength that has carried me this far,

courage that knows not how to yield,

shall lead me through this journey,

as the tides of fate begin to yield.

A phoenix rising from the ashes,

I leave behind the marks of war,

no longer bound by fear’s cold clutches,

I find myself on healing’s shore.

With arms outstretched to greet the sun,

its warmth upon my skin so fair,

I welcome in the light and love,

for now, I breathe the healing air.

The journey into remission,

is one I take with hope’s own wings,

embracing life’s bright moments,

and the love that each new day brings
