The Fear of Cancer Therapy
The fear of cancer therapy looms
A shadow cast over hope and healing rooms
The drugs and treatments, harsh and strong
Can leave the body weak and wrong
Radiation burns and chemo’s toll
Side effects that take a heavy toll
Hair loss, nausea, fatigue and pain
A battle fought again and again
The fear of what the future holds
Of what the treatment will unfold
Uncertainty and anxiety reign
As the body fights to ease the pain
But in the midst of fear and doubt
A flicker of hope can still come about
For the battle against cancer’s might
Is one fought with courage, love and light
So take heart, dear ones, and don’t lose sight
Of the strength and resilience that shines so bright
For in the face of fear and uncertainty
Love and hope will always be the key.
